Background:
Was keenly interested in Sports & Fitness right from his School/College days. Distance running was his forte & Gym was his favourite place. He has won several awards in short and long distance running events.
Played Inter-Offices & Inter-Clubs Badminton Tournaments in1960s. Later, in 1980s he took up coaching of his sons (Jitesh and Yogesh ) for badminton during their initial years of badminton at school and college where they made mark and later in open events during which period they were playing at Central Railway under the guidance of Sunder Shetty (Currently Hon. Sec of Maharashtra Badminton Association).

Background:
He won many district and state level titles in the under-18 category for his school, college and even the district. Aware of the lack of proper coaching facilities in the city, Jitesh dreamt of starting an academy to cater to the needs of youngsters like him and took up badminton coaching as a full time profession soon after he retired from competitive badminton. He currently coaches at prestigious clubs like MIG Cricket Club and North Indian Association. He has also conducted coaching camps in Matunga Gymkhana, North Indian Association, MIG Cricket Club and Matoshree Club.
He is also a Managing Committee Member of North Indian Association and Chairman of the Sports-Committee.
